Ready, set, launch! My name is Yahti Riskin… Strange I know, but I solemnly swear I am an actual person! I am 31 years old and live in that tiny country in Europe where it rains a lot called Belgium.

So why the travelcoaster? It came from a very simple idea. It combines the two things that I enjoy most in life: travelling the world and visiting theme parks. Everyone loves to travel and I am no different. What started at a young age collecting magazines from travel agencies has turned into a wanderlust to see new places and go on adventures both nearby and far away. Just like Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love I want to visit places where I can marvel at something and feel on top of the world. Don’t we all? Now I need to be honest about the kind of traveller that I am…I am a planner. Once I have a destination I can roam the internet for hours finding the must do’s, hidden gems, easiest transportation, great restaurants and best places to stay. When I visit, I want to make sure I don’t miss a thing! But don’t get me wrong, I do have a sense of adventure. I will leave free time to explore the unknown twists of a trip and let the wind take me where ever! But all this googling and travelling has created a lot of knowledge. Knowledge I want to share with the world, I think my friends have heard enough of me by now. Time to find a new audience! So here you will find honest reviews, tips, tricks and photos from my favorite places. May they help you on your way!

And now the exciting part… The big final twist, the key question: “Hey you! Yeah you! Why should I follow your blog? What’s unique about it?” Well if my travel adventures don’t rock your boat, I will add a specific area of expertise to the mix, but only if you are into it: Theme parks! I think having a love for travelling is quite standard these days. We, the younger generation, the millennials, we are daredevils. Saying goodbye, cheerio, adios and we are off to see the world. Travel blogs are popping up everywhere, but not everyone LOVES theme parks. That’s still a bit more specific. I know, there are forums for theme park enthusiasts but I think it will always be more niche. We are a special kind, a rare bread if you will! Sure, people like to join me on my trips, but they don’t share the same crazy enthusiasm that I do. And let me tell you, I LOVE theme parks. For as long as I can remember I visit multiple parks a year. No birthday gift in the world is better than hopping on my favorite ride and if there is something new at a park I will know (and the horror if I don’t!). Theme parks are happy places, my happy places. When I walk into a theme park I feel careless and I just want to be a kid again! Sounds great right?

Having expressed my passion, I am a critical human being. Theme parks are managed by big corporations and are money machines in the end. It’s not all perfect, it’s not all unicorns and rainbows ladies and gents! So even toward my most favorite places I will stay sharp and honest! Theme parks are magical places where you  can let go of your worries, but just like all places, they have their pros and cons and you really need to know your way around. Not having this knowledge can make your day stressful and a waste of money. I remember someone telling me “I went to Disneyland Paris and what a waste, I only did 3 rides the whole day”. I immediately get the urge to jump in and use my crazy knowledge for a good cause. Theme parks are still one of the most popular things to do on a day out with family or friends. I want to help everyone who visits a theme park to have a magical time so you can leave with wonderful memories to last a lifetime. In order to do this, some good planning and again valuable tips and tricks that I have learned over the years will take you a long way. I am eager to share this info here on this blog!

After this long intro, here the bottom line: hop on my travelcoaster filled with honest reviews, tips and tricks from the most amazing places and themeparks around the world! Take a seat and enjoy the ride!
